Raid Protection Setup
Protect your Discord server from coordinated bot raids with intelligent join monitoring and automated responses.
Prerequisites
- Administrator permissions in your Discord server
- AdaShield Bot added to your server
- Bot must have Kick Members and/or Ban Members permissions
What is a Discord Raid?
A Discord raid occurs when a large number of bot accounts or coordinated users join your server simultaneously with malicious intent. These raids can:
- Spam channels with inappropriate content or advertisements
- Mass-DM your members with scam links
- Disrupt your community and create chaos
AdaShield's raid protection detects these suspicious mass-join patterns and takes automatic action to protect your server.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Start Raid Protection Setup
Run the raid protection setup command:
Step 2: Configure Join Threshold
Select how many joins within the time window will trigger raid protection:
Very sensitive, may have false positives
Balanced protection for most servers
For larger, active communities
Less sensitive, for very large servers
Step 3: Set Time Window
Choose the time window for monitoring joins:
Step 4: Choose Action
Select what action to take when a raid is detected:
🚫 Kick
Removes suspicious accounts from the server. They can rejoin if they have an invite link.
🔨 Ban ⭐ Recommended
Permanently bans suspicious accounts, preventing them from rejoining.
Step 5: Enable Protection
Click "Enable Raid Protection" to activate. Your server is now protected! You'll receive alerts in your AdaShield logs channel when raids are detected.
Best Practices
Use Ban Action for Maximum Protection
Banning prevents raiding accounts from rejoining. Legitimate users can always appeal via socials.
Combine with Verification
Use raid protection alongside the verification system for multi-layered security.
Disable During Large Events
If you're expecting a surge of legitimate members (e.g., partnership announcement), temporarily disable raid protection with /raid disable.
Monitor Raid Alerts
Check your AdaShield logs channel regularly to review raid detections and ensure the system is working correctly.
